Klopotec
Print
The wind rattle (klopotec) is the guardian and protector of vineyards. Its hammering sound is used to scare the birds from the vineyards when the grapes are nearly ripe.

The Prlekian wind rattle looks like a wind mill on a tall pole. It consists of four sails, each made from a different kind of wood. It is thought to have special powers. It is usually erected on 15th August, sometimes even on 10th August, the day of St. Laurent.
